Job Description:

We are seeking a results-driven Purchasing & Operations Lead to anchor our procurement and supply chain functions. This is a critical role in our recycling operations, requiring a specialist who understands the nuances of the PET bottle market and can manage the complex logistics of fleet dispatching and supplier negotiation.

You will be responsible for the end-to-end procurement lifecycle—from identifying emerging scrap markets to leading high-stakes bulk purchase negotiations. Beyond buying, you will supervise our business and dispatching teams to ensure that raw materials move efficiently from the supplier to our facility. If you have 3+ years of experience in PET procurement and a "ground-level" understanding of the recycling industry, this is the role for you.

Requirements:

1. Strategic Procurement & PET Market Mastery

• Supplier Optimization: Formulate annual purchasing plans and budgets while continuously refining our pool of PET bottle suppliers to ensure quality and volume.

• Contract Governance: Manage the full tender process, including supplier pre-qualification, contract preparation, and the negotiation of service-level agreements (SLAs).

• Market Scouting: Identify emerging markets and "hotspots" for PET scrap to secure a competitive advantage in raw material acquisition.

2. Bulk Negotiation & Cost Architecture

• Cost Control: Lead high-volume purchase negotiations to drive down unit costs while maintaining a stable, uninterrupted supply chain.

• Metric Reporting: Maintain rigorous documentation of daily procurement operations, tracking production metrics and cost-savings against the budget.

3. Operations & Logistics Supervision

• Fleet Orchestration: Supervise the dispatching team to ensure the timely pickup and delivery of materials, optimizing route efficiency and fleet utilization.

• Team Leadership: Delegate tasks and supervise the business team, focusing on customer maintenance and the execution of procurement strategies.

• Process Oversight: Monitor daily production metrics to ensure the purchasing department's strategy aligns with the plant's operational needs.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

• Specialized Experience: Minimum of 3 years of cognate experience specifically in procuring PET Bottles.

• Industry Background: Must have a proven track record working within a Recycling Company.

• Education: Minimum of SSCE, OND, or NCE qualification.

Core Competencies

• Negotiation Power: Proven ability to manage bulk purchases and stabilize supply chains in a volatile market.

• Logistics Acumen: Knowledge of fleet dispatching and the Nigerian transport landscape.

• Leadership: Strong supervisory skills with the ability to manage a diverse team of procurement and dispatching staff.
