Job Description:
We are seeking an authoritative and highly skilled Finance Controller III to lead our financial governance and asset protection strategies in Lagos. This is an expert-level role designed for a subject matter expert who requires minimal direction and can navigate a complex scope of financial activities.
As the Controller, you will be the primary architect of the company’s internal controls and the lead strategist for budget optimization. You will not only oversee the mechanics of financial reporting but also provide high-level recommendations that shape departmental and project plans. Requirements:
1. Financial Governance & Asset Protection
Control Architecture: Establish, monitor, and enforce rigorous financial policies and procedures to safeguard the company’s assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
Audit Leadership: Partner with external auditors and conduct comprehensive internal audits to confirm the organization's financial condition and identify areas for process improvement.
Policy Enforcement: Act as the final authority on financial controls, ensuring all departments adhere to the established fiscal framework.
2. Strategic Budgeting & Performance Management
Budget Orchestration: Lead the preparation of complex budgets by establishing schedules and consolidating cross-departmental financial data into cohesive, actionable plans.
Variance Analytics: Achieve budget objectives by rigorously analyzing expenditures against forecasts and initiating swift corrective actions to mitigate financial drift.
Project Advising: Serve as the subject matter expert for large-scale project budgets, providing the analytical input necessary for successful project execution.
3. Advanced Reporting & Executive Advisory
Financial Storytelling: Collect and summarize complex data into high-level reports and presentations that highlight emerging trends and fiscal health.
Statistical Analysis: Apply advanced statistical models to financial data to forecast future performance and recommend strategic pivots to leadership.
Persuasive Presentation: Influence executive-level decisions through effective and persuasive presentations that translate raw numbers into strategic business insights.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Experience: 10 – 20 years of progressive experience in senior finance, accounting, or audit roles.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BSc/HND) and a Master’s Degree (MBA/MSc/MA) in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Certification: Possession of a professional accounting designation (e.g., ICAN, ACCA, CPA) is expected for this level.
