Job Description:
Aniso Specialist Medical Centre is seeking a highly professional and detail-oriented HMO Desk Officer to serve as the critical bridge between our patients, our clinical team, and various Health Maintenance Organisations (HMOs). You will be the first point of contact for insurance-related queries, responsible for managing the administrative workflow that ensures patients receive seamless care while maintaining accurate financial records for the hospital.
Requirements:
HMO Coordination & Approvals: Serve as the primary liaison for HMO interactions. You will verify patient eligibility, obtain pre-authorizations for procedures and medications, and proactively resolve approval delays with HMO representatives.
Patient Registration & Guidance: Register patients accurately under their respective HMO plans. Educate patients on their benefit packages, coverage limitations, and necessary procedures with empathy and professionalism.
Documentation & Compliance: Maintain meticulous digital and physical records. Ensure all HMO-related documentation is filed, organized, and handled with strict confidentiality in line with hospital policies.
Financial Reconciliation: Work closely with the Accounts and Billing team to reconcile HMO claims, ensuring that all submissions are accurate to facilitate timely payment.
Operational Excellence: Uphold the hospital’s service standards by greeting all visitors and staff with professional etiquette, ensuring the front office environment remains orderly and welcoming.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in any field. Degrees in Health, Administration, or related fields are an added advantage.
Location: Must reside in Benin City.
Technical Expertise:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and hospital/insurance software.
Demonstrated ability to navigate HMO portals confidently and independently for verifications, approvals, and claims processing.
Experience: Previous experience in HMO desk operations, medical billing, or hospital records management is a significant advantage.
