Job Description:

We are seeking a high-caliber, result-driven Business Development Officer to lead our market expansion efforts within the upstream and midstream oil and gas sectors. This is a strategic role for an industry veteran who understands that "business development" in this sector is a blend of technical expertise, regulatory navigation, and elite relationship management.

Your mission will be to identify high-value opportunities, manage the complex bidding lifecycle, and position the company as a preferred partner for IOCs and NOCs. If you have 5+ years of experience within an oil and gas servicing or consulting firm and a proven track record of securing lucrative contracts, we invite you to drive our growth.

Requirements:

1. Market Intelligence & Opportunity Sourcing

  • Strategic Prospecting: Identify and qualify new business opportunities, specifically focusing on service contracts, technical consultancies, and infrastructure projects within the energy sector.

  • Tender Intelligence: Monitor NipeX and other industry-specific portals for Invitations to Tender (ITT) and Requests for Quotation (RFQ).

  • Competitive Analysis: Conduct deep market research to stay ahead of industry trends, competitor movements, and emerging regulatory shifts (e.g., PIA impact).

2. Technical Bidding & Proposal Management

  • Bid Strategy: Lead the development of winning business proposals, technical bids, and commercial presentations.

  • Value Proposition: Clearly articulate our technical capabilities and safety (HSE) track record to potential clients.

  • Pricing Strategy: Collaborate with technical and finance teams to ensure competitive yet profitable pricing for large-scale tenders.

3. Strategic Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Relationship Stewardship: Build and maintain high-level strategic relationships with key decision-makers at International Oil Companies (IOCs) and National Oil Companies (NOCs).

  • Negotiation Excellence: Lead complex negotiations to secure favorable contract terms and service-level agreements (SLAs).

  • Revenue Growth: Support long-term revenue initiatives by identifying cross-selling and up-selling opportunities within existing client accounts.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

  • Education: HND, Bachelor’s, or Master’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of dedicated experience in Business Development exclusively within the Oil & Gas sector.

  • Industry Background: Must have previously worked with an Oil & Gas servicing company or an Oil & Gas consulting firm.

Core Competencies

  • Technical Savvy: A strong understanding of oilfield services, drilling operations, and industry-standard procurement processes.

  • Negotiation Mastery: The ability to close high-stakes deals and navigate complex contract legalities.

  • Communication: Exceptional presentation and proposal-writing skills, capable of influencing C-suite stakeholders.

Salary

₦200,000 - ₦300,000/month
