Job Description:
- Our client is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Senior Accountant to lead accounting, finance, and tax engagements while strengthening operational efficiency and client delivery standards.
- This role involves managing the preparation of financial statements, supervising accounting operations, and delivering timely insights to support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will play a key role in strengthening reporting processes, improving internal controls, and ensuring high-quality financial disclosures.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the financial reporting process, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all reports.
- Manage and coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities across the finance team.
- Review general ledger activities, reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure data integrity.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, statutory requirements, and internal control policies.
- Provide detailed financial analysis and insights to support business strategy, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to explain financial performance and key variances.
- Support external audits by preparing required documentation and liaising with auditors.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring high performance and continuous development.
- Identify and implement improvements in financial reporting processes, systems, and controls.
- Support tax reporting and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements where necessary.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) is required
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in accounting or financial reporting.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards (IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or similar).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Proven ability to manage deadlines and handle multiple reporting cycles.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
Salary
