Job Description:
- Roadlamp Limited is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Graduate Trainee to join our Finance team.
- The successful candidate will undergo structured on-the-job training and gain practical experience in accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, compliance, and other finance-related activities.
- The Graduate Trainee will work closely with experienced members of the Finance team, supporting day-to-day financial operations while developing the knowledge, technical skills, and professional competencies required for a successful career in finance and accounting.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Assist the Finance team with the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Support the analysis of financial information and company performance.
- Assist in preparing financial reports and management summaries.
- Learn to interpret financial data and provide basic insights under supervision.
Budget Monitoring:
- Assist in monitoring departmental and project budgets.
- Support the preparation of budget variance reports.
- Assist in identifying significant variances and escalating them to the appropriate supervisor.
- Gain practical knowledge of budget preparation and financial resource management.
Financial Reporting and Accounting:
Accounting& Auditing
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and periodic financial reports.
- Support the recording and processing of financial transactions.
- Assist with account reconciliations and verification of financial records.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation.
- Support the Finance team in ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
Cash Flow and Treasury Support:
- Assist in monitoring daily cash inflows and outflows.
- Support the preparation and updating of cash flow reports.
- Assist with the monitoring of receivables and payables.
- Support payment processing and documentation in line with company procedures.
- Gain practical exposure to working capital and cash management activities.
Compliance and Internal Controls:
- Assist in ensuring financial transactions comply with company policies and procedures.
- Support the maintenance of proper financial records and documentation.
- Assist with internal and external audit requirements.
- Learn and apply basic financial controls designed to safeguard company assets.
- Escalate identified discrepancies or irregularities to the appropriate supervisor.
General Finance Support:
- Assist with day-to-day activities within the Finance and Accounts department.
- Support the Finance team with data entry, filing, documentation, and record keeping.
- Assist with invoice verification, expense documentation, and account reconciliations.
- Participate in finance-related projects and assignments as required.
- Carry out other duties assigned by the Finance Manager or designated supervisor.
Requirements:
- B.Sc. or HND (Upper Credit or equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 0 - 1 year of relevant work experience. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Relevant internship, Industrial Training (IT), NYSC, or entry-level finance experience is an added advantage.
- Basic understanding of accounting and financial principles.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel; familiarity with accounting software is an advantage.
- ICAN, ACA, ACCA, or other relevant professional qualifications/certifications in progress is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Previous exposure to the Oil & Gas industry is an advantage.
- Must be resident in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
