PAYROLL SPECIALIST AT MONIEPOINT | PAYROLL SPECIALIST JOBS IN LAGOS

Lagos, Nigeria | Posted on 10/03/2026

About Company:

Moniepoint Incorporated is a global business payments and banking platform and recently became QED Investors’ first investment in Africa. We are the partner of choice for over 600,000 businesses of all sizes, powering the dreams of SMBs and providing them with equal access to the tools they need to grow and scale.

Job Description:

We are seeking a high-precision, data-driven Payroll Specialist to anchor Moniepoint’s global compensation engine. In a multi-currency, hyper-growth fintech environment, success is defined by "Zero-Defect Execution", the ability to harmonize international labor laws, complex tax regimes, and HRIS data into a seamless, timely payroll experience. This role is designed for a "Guardian of Data Integrity" with 4+ years of experience who can blend "Analytical Prowess" with the "Regulatory Rigor" required to maintain SOX-compliant financial workflows.

Your mission is to ensure "Global Accuracy and Audit Readiness." You will be the primary steward of our international workforce’s financial well-being: responsible for end-to-end processing across Africa, the UK, and Asia, while ensuring every entry mirrors our HRIS lifecycle and general ledger. If you possess "Absolute Dependability," mastery of global tools like Payfit or Gusto, and a "Zero-Findings" mindset for audits, we want you to drive our operational excellence.

Requirements:

1. Global Execution & Multi-Entity Validation

  • End-to-End Orchestration: Prepare and validate payroll inputs across multiple cloud-based platforms, ensuring regional nuances and local labor laws are meticulously applied.

  • Financial Reconciliation: Execute rigorous monthly cycles, performing variance reviews and reconciling payroll feeders to the General Ledger (GL) to ensure financial reporting accuracy.

  • Lifecycle Synchronization: Audit and validate that all employee changes—from onboarding to promotions—are mirrored perfectly between HRIS and payroll systems.

2. SOX Compliance & Statutory Governance

  • Internal Control Stewardship: Maintain and adhere to SOX-compliant workflows, ensuring every payroll activity follows established approval hierarchies and strict audit trails.

  • Statutory Fidelity: Support the timely filing of PAYE, pensions, and local taxes across all operating jurisdictions to mitigate regulatory risk.

  • Audit Readiness: Proactively produce detailed schedules and documentation for internal and external audits to maintain a "zero-findings" environment.

3. Stakeholder Diplomacy & Process Automation

  • Employee Experience: Act as the professional point of contact for payroll queries, translating complex data into clear, empathetic, and timely support for colleagues.

  • Vendor Management: Coordinate with global payroll providers and third-party vendors to ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met with high-quality output.

  • Operational Optimization: Collaborate with HRIS and Finance teams to troubleshoot discrepancies and automate manual tasks, maintaining updated Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

  • Experience: 4+ years of dedicated payroll or HR operations experience in a professional, high-standards environment.

  • Systems Fluency: Hands-on familiarity with global platforms such as Payfit, Gusto, Monnify, or Razorpay.

  • Analytical Prowess: Advanced confidence in working with complex spreadsheets and large, multi-currency data sets.

Preferred Edge

  • International Scope: Prior experience supporting multi-entity and multi-currency environments (African, UK, or Asian markets).

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of SOX controls within a financial operations context.
