Job Description:

• We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to manage the financial operations of our retail business.
• The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, monitoring cash flow, managing inventory-related accounting activities, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
• The successful candidate must possess strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of retail accounting practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and daily transaction postings.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Monitor daily sales, expenses, and cash flow activities.
• Reconcile bank accounts, cash balances, and financial statements.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Track and reconcile inventory-related transactions and stock valuations.
• Process payroll and maintain employee salary records.
• Prepare and file statutory deductions, taxes, and other regulatory obligations.
• Monitor budgets and provide recommendations for cost control and profitability improvement.
• Conduct periodic financial audits and stock verification exercises.
• Analyze financial data and provide management with actionable insights.
• Ensure proper documentation and filing of all financial records.
• Support management in financial planning, forecasting, and decision-making.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 4–6 years of accounting experience, preferably within a retail, FMCG, or distribution business.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and taxation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Experience in inventory accounting and stock management.
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
• High level of integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality.
• Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, or ATS is an added advantage.
