Job Description:

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to oversee the financial integrity of our recycling operations. In this pivotal role, you will be the guardian of our production efficiency, responsible for dissecting raw material, labour, and overhead costs to drive profitability. Requirements:

• Cost Analysis & Variance Reporting: Lead the end-to-end analysis of production costs. Develop comprehensive reports that track performance against budgets, identify variances, and surface opportunities for cost-saving and process efficiency.

• Inventory & Asset Stewardship: Manage the valuation and reconciliation of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods. Maintain a flawless fixed asset register to ensure accurate plant reporting.

• Budgeting & Forecasting: Partner with finance and operations to build precise annual budgets. Monitor actual performance in real-time, providing leadership with the insights needed to take corrective action.

• Profitability Optimization: Conduct deep-dive profitability analyses across various production lines and product categories to help guide strategic operational decisions.

• Internal Controls & Compliance: Establish and maintain robust internal controls over costing processes. Ensure total alignment with accounting standards, company policies, and statutory requirements.

• System & Data Management: Leverage ERP systems for real-time tracking. Develop and maintain the tools and dashboards that provide our management team with immediate visibility into our operational costs.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional qualifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CMA) are highly desirable.

• Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Cost Accountant, ideally within the manufacturing or recycling industry.
