Job Description:

We are seeking a high-velocity and commercially elite Manager, Financial Reporting to anchor the advisory engine of our client’s firm. In the specialized landscape of Africa’s high-growth startups and SMEs, success is defined by "Financial Sovereignty", the ability to harmonize complex multi-sector accounting with the clinical precision required for IFRS Compliance, Tax Strategy, and Operational Efficiency. This role is designed for a "Solutions Architect" with at least 5 years of experience in Tier 1/2 firms who can blend "Technical Grit" (signing off on major tax and accounting deliverables) with the "Strategic Agility" required to partner with senior leadership on firm-wide operational plans.

Requirements:

1. Firm Leadership & Operational Governance

  • Operational Sovereignty: Partner with senior leadership to translate firm strategy into high-fidelity operational plans, acting as the primary "Source of Execution Logic."

  • Workflow Architecture: Review and optimize internal processes and controls, providing the "Structural Foundation" for firm-wide efficiency.

  • Performance Stewardship: Monitor firm health using dashboards and management reports, ensuring the "Source of Operational Visibility" is elite and uncompromised.

2. Quality Assurance & Client Delivery Logic

  • Delivery Sovereignty: Review and sign off on accounting, finance, and tax deliverables with millimetric focus, acting as the primary "Source of Technical Integrity."

  • Relational Architecture: Proactively manage client relationships and address service gaps, providing the "Functional Foundation" for long-term client retention.

  • Standards Stewardship: Ensure all engagements strictly adhere to IFRS, ISA, and applicable tax laws, maintaining the "Source of Regulatory Certainty."

3. People Leadership & Growth Power

  • Talent Sovereignty: Lead and mentor diverse teams for high-performance, acting as the primary "Source of Accountability and Skill Development."

  • Growth Architecture: Support business development and client acquisition through high-impact proposals and pitches, providing the "Commercial Foundation" for firm expansion.

  • Velocity Logic: Utilize 3+ years of managerial expertise to resolve technical gaps and streamline onboarding, maximizing the "Source of Institutional Throughput."

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in a Tier 1 or Tier 2 accounting firm; at least 3 years in a managerial role.

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.

  • Certification: Chartered Accountant qualification (ACCA preferred).

  • Knowledge Base: Expert expertise in Financial Reporting (IFRS), Taxation, and ISA. (Audit experience is a distinct advantage).
