Job Description:
Our Client is seeking a Financial Reporting Accountant to lead comprehensive financial reporting and control functions within its finance department. As a key player in the energy sector, this role involves overseeing the preparation of financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS and local GAAP, and managing multi-entity financial consolidation. The position requires driving budgeting and forecasting processes, optimizing tax planning and regulatory compliance, and strengthening internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Requirements:
- Oversee the preparation and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS, local GAAP, and internal policies
- Maintain and enhance robust internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity
- Lead the external audit process, managing relationships with auditors and driving continuous improvements in financial reporting processes and systems
- Conduct comprehensive financial and economic analyses, including investment appraisals using NPV and IRR methodologies, to support strategic decision-making
- Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting, monitoring budget performance and providing detailed variance analysis
- Collaborate with department heads to enforce financial accountability, optimize costs, and uphold financial discipline across the organization
- Oversee all corporate tax activities, ensuring timely compliance with tax regulations and developing tax-efficient strategies within legal frameworks
- Manage multi-entity financial reporting, ensuring consistency in accounting policies, consolidation of financial statements, and intercompany reconciliations
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to build a high-performance function while fostering collaboration with operations, commercial, and executive leadership
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent
- Minimum of 10–12 years of progressive experience in finance, including at least 5–7 years in senior management roles
- Demonstrated expertise in financial reporting and consolidation, tax planning and compliance, budgeting and forecasting, multi-entity financial management, and financial controls and governance
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards (IFRS/local GAAP) and industry-specific accounting practices
