Job Description:

ITM Africa is seeking a high-caliber Finance Manager to lead financial operations within a dynamic startup environment at the Lekki Free Trade Zone. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for building and overseeing the financial architecture of the organization, ensuring rigorous internal controls, and providing the strategic insights necessary for rapid growth. We are looking for a chartered professional who can blend technical accounting mastery with the agility required to navigate a startup landscape.

Requirements:

Financial Strategy & Planning

  • Financial Oversight: Lead and manage all financial operations and accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and integrity in all ledgers.

  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Drive the annual financial planning process, including the development of comprehensive budgets and long-term forecasts.

  • Capital Management: Manage cash flow and liquidity to support the operational needs of a growing startup.

Reporting & Analytical Insights

  • Management Dashboards: Prepare high-level financial reports and management dashboards that provide real-time visibility into business performance.

  • Variance Analysis: Conduct deep-dive analysis into revenue trends, cost structures, and budget variances to identify areas for optimization.

  • IFRS Compliance: Ensure all financial statements and reporting activities are strictly compliant with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Risk Management & Internal Control

  • Process Implementation: Design and implement robust financial controls and standard operating procedures (SOPs) from the ground up.

  • Audit & Compliance: Coordinate internal and external audit processes; manage tax planning and ensure full compliance with Nigerian tax regulations.

  • Risk Mitigation: Lead risk management activities to safeguard company assets and ensure business continuity within the Free Trade Zone.

Systems & Operations

  • ERP Management: Oversee the utilization of ERP systems to streamline financial reporting and data management.

  • Data Mastery: Leverage advanced Microsoft Excel skills for complex financial modeling and procurement analysis.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Professional Certification

  • Degree: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Chartered Status: ACCA, CPA, CA, or equivalent professional certification is mandatory.

  • Advantage: An MBA or additional specialized finance qualification is highly preferred.

Experience & Technical Skills

  • Seniority: Minimum of 10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience.

  • Startup Agility: Proven experience in a startup or fast-paced environment, ideally with a background in process implementation.

  • Knowledge Base: Expert knowledge of IFRS, taxation, and Nigerian financial reporting requirements.

  • Software: Advanced proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
