Job Description:

• We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of News to lead the editorial and operational direction of a 24-hour news station across Television, Digital, and Radio platforms.
• The ideal candidate will possess strong newsroom leadership experience, excellent editorial judgment, and a proven ability to manage fast-paced, multimedia news operations while driving audience growth and content excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee newsroom operations across TV, Digital, and Radio platforms.
• Drive editorial strategy, news planning, and breaking news coverage.
• Ensure accurate, balanced, timely, and high-quality news output.
• Supervise Editors, Producers, Reporters, Anchors, and Digital teams.
• Develop innovative content and audience engagement strategies.
• Ensure compliance with media regulations, editorial policies, and journalism ethics.
• Manage newsroom resources, workflows, and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with Programming, Production, Digital, and Engineering teams.
• Represent the station at industry events and stakeholder engagements.
• Mentor and develop newsroom talent and leadership capacity.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Media Studies, or related field.
• Master’s Degree or professional certifications will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of 15 years’ experience in broadcast journalism and newsroom operations across TV, Digital, and Radio.
• At least 5 years in a senior leadership role within a reputable media organization.
• Strong experience managing live news and 24-hour newsroom operations.
• Excellent understanding of digital journalism, newsroom technology, and audience engagement strategies.
• Strong knowledge of media laws, editorial ethics, and regulatory compliance.
