Job Description:
- The Assistant Manager – Accounts will be responsible for supporting the organization’s accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing daily accounting activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing financial insights to support business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS and applicable accounting standards.
- Support financial reporting, forecasting, and management analysis.
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the General Ledger (GL).
- Review bank reconciliations, ledger reconciliations, and intercompany balances.
- Supervise Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities to ensure timely payments and collections.
- Ensure proper documentation and authorization of accounting transactions.
- Ensure timely filing of statutory obligations including VAT, WHT, PAYE, and other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
- Monitor budget performance and report on variances.
- Assist in cash flow monitoring and expenditure tracking.
- Supervise and guide junior accounting staff for operational efficiency.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- ACA, ACCA, or equivalent professional certification is mandatory or highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years relevant accounting experience, preferably within the Audit & Consulting space, with exposure to Manufacturing or FMCG audits.
- Prior supervisory or team leadership experience is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in ERP/Accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, financial reporting).
- Strong understanding of IFRS, taxation, financial controls, cost accounting, and inventory management.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- High integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Leadership mindset with strong teamwork skills.
Salary
