Job Description:

We are seeking a meticulous, ethical, and detail-oriented Accounts Officer to join our finance team in Yaba. In this role, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial transactions, maintaining accurate ledger records, and supporting the broader accounting function to ensure financial discipline.

The ideal candidate is a finance professional who combines strong numerical competence with high ethical standards and is already familiar with modern accounting software ecosystem.

Requirements:

Financial Recording & Ledger Management

• Transaction Posting: Accurately record daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.

• Reconciliations: Perform regular bank, supplier, and customer account reconciliations to ensure data accuracy.

• Documentation: Maintain an organized and secure physical and digital filing system for all financial records, invoices, receipts, and vouchers to ensure a clear audit trail.

Cash Flow & Accounts Administration

• Invoicing: Prepare and dispatch accurate client invoices and follow up diligently on outstanding receivables.

• Expense Tracking: Review, verify, and process staff expense claims and petty cash disbursements in line with company policy.

• Reporting Assistance: Support the Finance Manager in compiling data for monthly payroll processing and the preparation of basic financial reports.

Compliance & System Utilization

• Software Management: Utilize accounting software packages daily to execute tasks and generate financial summaries.

• Statutory Compliance: Assist in compiling necessary data for routine tax filings (such as VAT and WHT).

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Experience

• Degree: HND or BSc in Accounting or a closely related financial discipline.

• Tech Savvy: Proven conversance with modern accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or equivalent ERP modules).

Location & Proximity

• Residency: Must be a resident of Lagos State.

• Proximity: Strong preference will be given to candidates residing on the Lagos Mainland, specifically around the Yaba axis (e.g., Surulere, Ebute Metta, Bariga, Akoka, Sabo) to ensure seamless daily commuting.
