Job Description:

  • The Account Officer is responsible for managing the financial transactions, inventory records, and customer accounts, ensuring accuracy in sales, inventory, and payments.
  • The potential employee shall bridge the gap between sales activities, inventory management, and financial reporting.
  • The role combines general accounting duties with specific tasks that support the sales cycle within the renewable energy

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all accounting transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, processing invoices, payments, and receipts accurately.
  • Conduct periodic bank reconciliations, prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and generate reports on sales and financial campaigns.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, regulations, and tax requirements, and support internal and external audits with necessary documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory items, monitor stock levels, and assist with cost analysis and budget management.
  • Reconcile customer payments between the sales system and accounting software
  • Manage accounts receivable, including following up on overdue payments from clients.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of inventory items
  • Track costs related to materials and logistics
  • Record and process supplier invoices for inventory purchases.
  • Manage vendor payments to ensure timely settlement.
  • Handle petty cash and maintain records of daily expenses.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly sales reports, cash flow reports, and profit & loss statements.
  • Compute and file statutory taxes (VAT, Income Tax).
  • Support internal and external audits.

Requirements:

  • Education: HND / BSc in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Experience: 3- 6 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a trading or technical sales environment.
  • Experience: Prior experience in an accounting or finance department, preferably within a sales-oriented or energy-related business, is beneficial.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, is essential.
  • Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are crucial for success in this role.
