Job Description:
We are seeking a versatile and highly organized Accountant / Procurement Officer to join our team. This dual-function role is critical to our operational success, requiring a professional who can balance meticulous financial record-keeping with transparent, cost-effective supply chain management.
You will be responsible for ensuring our financial integrity while optimizing the acquisition of goods and services. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional with a strong grasp of Nigerian statutory regulations and a proven ability to negotiate and manage vendor relationships effectively.
Requirements:
Accounting & Financial Management
Financial Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate ledgers and ensure all transactions are properly documented and filed.
Reporting: Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to provide management with clear insights.
Cash Management: Manage accounts payable/receivable, reconcile bank statements, and monitor daily cash flow.
Tax & Payroll: Process payroll and ensure 100% compliance with Nigerian tax requirements, including VAT, PAYE, and WHT.
Audit & Budgeting: Support the annual budgeting process and serve as a key point of contact for internal and external auditors.
Procurement & Supply Chain Oversight
Sourcing & Evaluation: Identify and vet reliable vendors based on price, quality, and delivery timelines.
Purchasing: Prepare and issue purchase orders and contracts, ensuring all acquisitions follow a transparent and compliant process.
Negotiation: Negotiate favorable pricing and delivery terms with suppliers to maximize organizational value.
Inventory Control: Track orders, ensure timely delivery, and monitor inventory levels to coordinate necessary replenishment.
Compliance & Internal Controls
Regulatory Adherence: Ensure all financial and procurement activities comply with internal policies and regulatory bodies like the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).
Risk Mitigation: Identify potential financial or procurement risks and recommend proactive strategies to mitigate them.
Stakeholder Liaison: Maintain professional relationships with vendors, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: 3–5 years of relevant experience across accounting and procurement functions.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and advanced Microsoft Excel.
Deep knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and modern procurement processes.
Certifications: Professional certification (e.g., ICAN or ACCA) is a significant advantage.
