Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and disciplined Accountant to manage the financial operations of our organization in Lagos. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring statutory compliance, and providing management with the financial insights necessary for operational efficiency. The successful candidate will oversee the full accounting cycle, from daily transaction processing to the preparation of comprehensive financial statements.

Due to the location of our operations, we are specifically looking for candidates who reside within or around the Ibeju-Lekki axis to ensure seamless daily attendance and work-life balance.

Requirements:

Financial Record Keeping & Management

• General Ledger: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.

• Accounts Payable/Receivable: Oversee the processing of vendor payments and the tracking of customer receivables to maintain healthy cash flow.

• Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure internal records align with bank statements.

Compliance & Reporting

• Tax Management: Ensure the company remains compliant with all Nigerian tax laws, including the timely filing and remittance of VAT, WHT, and PAYE.

• Management Accounts: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including Profit & Loss statements and Balance Sheets.

• Audit Support: Coordinate and provide the necessary documentation for internal and external audits.

Budgeting & Cost Control

• Budget Monitoring: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and monitor departmental spend against approved limits.

• Cost Analysis: Identify opportunities for cost optimization and provide recommendations to management to improve profitability.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Experience

• Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• Professional Status: Enrollment in or completion of professional certifications (ICAN/ACCA) is an added advantage.

• Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience in a structured corporate environment.

Technical Skills

• Software Proficiency: Strong experience using accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or Tally) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Regulatory Knowledge: Sound understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Nigerian tax regulations.
