Job Description:
Mshel Homes Limited is seeking a meticulous and strategically minded Accountant to manage our financial ecosystem. In this role, you will be the custodian of our financial transactions, ensuring every record is accurate and every process complies with national accounting principles. You will go beyond traditional bookkeeping by providing the high-level financial analysis and budgeting support necessary to drive the growth of our real estate portfolio and ensure long-term organizational health.

Requirements:
Financial Reporting & Management
Comprehensive Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to give a clear picture of company performance.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts. You will monitor variances and recommend proactive corrective actions to keep the company on track.
Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies immediately to maintain data integrity.
Operational Accounting & Compliance
Accounts Oversight: Manage the full cycle of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring the company maintains healthy vendor relationships and timely collections.
Tax Management: Ensure total compliance with local tax laws. This includes preparing and filing returns and acting as the primary liaison with relevant tax authorities.
Audit Readiness: Prepare all necessary documentation and provide technical support during internal and external audit cycles.
Strategic Support & Controls
Financial Analysis: Conduct deep-dive analysis to identify market trends, cost-saving opportunities, and potential for revenue enhancement.
Policy Governance: Implement and maintain rigorous accounting policies and procedures to ensure robust internal controls and financial integrity.
Cross-Functional Liaison: Collaborate with project managers and other departments to provide financial insights that support critical business decisions.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional Certification: Possession of ICAN or ACCA is highly preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a core accounting role.
Prior experience specifically in the Real Estate or Construction industry is an added advantage.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks or Sage.
Strong knowledge of Nigerian accounting standards and local tax regulations.
