Job Description:

We are seeking a precise, experienced, and highly disciplined Accountant to manage the financial operations for our CMS office. In this role, you will be responsible for the integrity of our financial data, ensuring that all ledgers are current, statutory obligations are met, and cash resources are optimized.

The ideal candidate has a strong grasp of IFRS/GAAP principles, a talent for rigorous general ledger control, and the ability to maintain seamless relationships with external auditors, tax authorities, and banking partners.

Requirements:

General Ledger & Financial Control

  • Transaction Posting: Manage all transactions posting into the General Ledger for Lington & Bernie and Gadgas Limited.

  • Financial Oversight: Perform advanced General Ledger review and control to ensure all entries are accurate and accounted for.

  • Documentation: Prepare Vendor Payment Vouchers and Journal Vouchers for all accruals.

Cash & Treasury Management

  • Cash Flow Optimization: Prepare monthly Fixed Deposit Reports for all excess funds and strategically invest excess capital to maximize returns.

  • Reporting: Prepare and deliver Weekly Book Balance Reports to management.

  • Reconciliation: Conduct regular bank reconciliations and review statements to ensure zero discrepancies.

Compliance & Liaison

  • Statutory Obligations: Ensure the timely remittance of all statutory obligations before due dates.

  • External Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for Bank Account Officers, Tax Authorities, and External Auditors.

  • Tax Management: Liaise with tax officials regarding statutory bills and regulatory issues.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience: 4–5 years of professional experience in financial accounting.

  • Technical Mastery:

    • Strong working knowledge of financial accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP).

    • Advanced capability in General Ledger review, control, and maintenance.

    • Proven track record in bank reconciliation preparation and review.

  • Core Competencies:

    • Precision: Meticulous attention to detail, especially regarding ledger postings and tax remittances.

    • Communication: Ability to represent the company professionally when dealing with tax authorities, banks, and auditors.

    • Analytical Thinking: Capability to monitor cash balances and make informed decisions regarding fund allocation.

    • Reliability: A disciplined approach to meeting all statutory and operational deadlines.

Salary

N200,000 - N300,000 per month.
