Our client in the Engineering and Construction Sector is recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Description:

We are looking for a seasoned and autonomous Chartered Accountant to take full ownership of our financial operations in Ikeja. This role is for a strategic, "self-starter" who thrives in fast-paced environments and can translate complex financial data into actionable insights for management. You will be responsible not only for the integrity of our financial records but also for driving the commercial health of our projects through rigorous cash flow management and budget oversight.

Requirements:

  • Financial Stewardship: Oversee all accounting processes, ensuring meticulous record-keeping for every transaction and maintaining the accuracy of our financial statements.

  • Project Finance: Provide critical support in raising and managing funds for project execution, ensuring that cash flow and liquidity remain optimal at all times.

  • Budgeting & Compliance: Develop and manage annual budgets while ensuring the organization remains fully compliant with internal policies and external fiscal regulations.

  • Internal Controls: Maintain and strengthen systems of control to mitigate risk. You will be expected to design and enforce financial policies that ensure operational efficiency.

  • Strategic Advisory: Act as a financial partner to the management team, providing data-backed guidance and impact analysis to support informed decision-making.

  • Reconciliation & Reporting: Execute regular account reconciliations and prepare comprehensive reports that highlight risk, materiality, and interdependencies.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field from a reputable institution.

  • Certification: MUST be a Chartered Accountant.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience, with at least 3 years specifically within a consulting firm.

  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced command of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

  • Key Competencies:

    • Autonomy: A true self-starter capable of delivering results without constant supervision.

    • Analytical Rigor: Ability to spot, assess, and address financial risks and translate them into clear business impacts.

    • Commercial Acumen: Strong leadership and a proven ability to manage financial strategy in an ever-changing environment.

    • Organizational Skills: Highly organized with an excellent ability to plan and execute tasks under pressure.
