Job Description:

A disciplined and analytical Accountant is required to lead the financial operations at our Uyo office. This role is central to maintaining the fiscal integrity of various construction projects and business operations, requiring a professional who can bridge the gap between day-to-day bookkeeping and strategic financial planning. You will be responsible for ensuring absolute accuracy in financial reporting, managing complex project costs, and maintaining full compliance with Nigerian statutory and tax regulations.

The ideal candidate possesses a high level of professional integrity and technical proficiency in modern accounting platforms like Zoho Books.

Requirements:

Financial Reporting & Ledger Management

• Record Integrity: Maintain precise financial records, ledgers, and statements for all business activities and construction projects.

• Reconciliation: Perform regular bank statement reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies with high urgency.

• Periodic Reporting: Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to guide management’s strategic review.

Transactional & Project Accounting

• Payables & Receivables: Manage the end-to-end processing of invoices and payments, ensuring healthy cash flow cycles.

• Cost Analysis: Monitor project-specific expenses and provide detailed cost analysis reports to Project Managers to ensure budget adherence.

• Asset Management: Maintain the fixed assets register and oversee depreciation schedules for company equipment and property.

Compliance & Audit Coordination

• Tax Administration: Ensure full compliance with Nigerian tax laws and manage the timely filing of all statutory requirements.

• Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors and prepare all necessary documentation for both internal and statutory audits.

• Budgetary Control: Support the preparation of budgets and cash flow forecasts to assist in long-term financial planning.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• National Service: Must have completed the mandatory NYSC program or possess a valid certificate of exemption.

• Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience.

  • Experience within a construction, logistics, or service organization is highly preferred.

• Technical Skills:

  • Direct proficiency in Zoho Books and advanced MS Excel.

  • Strong working knowledge of Nigerian tax regulations and statutory reporting standards.

• Professional Certification: ICAN (or equivalent) qualification is an added advantage.
