Job Description:
- An Account / Payroll Officer in an oil and gas companymanages employee compensation, tax deductions, and financial records, ensuring compliance with industry-specific regulations and labor laws.
- Key duties include processing timesheets, managing deductions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring accurate, timely salary payments.
Key Responsibilities
- Payroll Processing: Manage end-to-end payroll for onshore and offshore employees, ensuring accurate calculation of hours, bonuses, and tax deductions.
- Data Management: Collaborate with HR to maintain accurate employee data, including tax information, bank details, and benefit deductions.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll regulations, labor laws, and statutory deductions (e.g., Pay As You Earn - PAYE).
- Accounting Functions: Assist with general ledger entries, journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly financial reporting.
- Discrepancy Resolution: Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies efficiently.
- Reporting: Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual payroll reports, including gross payroll and tax deductions for management.
Requirements:
- Education: B.Sc./HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: 3–5 years of payroll/accounting experience, preferably in the oil and gas sector.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with payroll systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
- Professional Qualification: ICAN or ACCA certification is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong analytical, communication, and time-management skills with high attention to detail.
