Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior WordPress Developer to lead the design, architecture, and deployment of premium digital experiences for our clients. Based in Abuja, this role is designed for a technical expert who bridges the gap between sophisticated frontend aesthetics and high-performance backend engineering.

As our lead WordPress Developer, you will own the entire site lifecycle—from custom theme development and plugin architecture to server integration and security hardening. We are looking for a professional with 7 years of experience who understands that a great website isn't just "attractive," but is a high-availability, secure, and lightning-fast asset. Requirements:

1. Full-Stack WordPress Architecture

• Frontend Engineering: Build responsive, pixel-perfect user interfaces using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/jQuery, ensuring cross-browser compatibility and consistent branding.

• Backend Governance: Design and manage the website's backend architecture, including database structures and server-side integrations to ensure 99.9% availability.

• Custom Development: Beyond simple site-building, you will generate custom WordPress themes and proprietary plugins tailored to specific client functionalities.

2. Performance Optimization & Feature Design

• Speed & Performance: Conduct rigorous website performance tests (Core Web Vitals) and implement caching and code-splitting strategies to ensure high-speed delivery.

• Page Builder Mastery: Utilize advanced features of builders like Elementor, Divi, and WPBakery while maintaining clean, bloat-free code.

• Feature Innovation: Proactively design and implement new features and functionalities that enhance user engagement and meet complex client requirements.

3. Security, Monitoring & Maintenance

• Technical Troubleshooting: Act as the Tier-3 point of contact for prioritizing and resolving critical content issues, database errors, or server downtimes under pressure.

• Security Hardening: Manage all technical aspects of the CMS, including security updates, SSL management, and vulnerability patching.

• Continuous Monitoring: Supervise the performance of live websites, using diagnostic tools to preemptively resolve issues before they affect the end-user.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.

• Experience: A minimum of 7 years of proven work experience as a WordPress Developer with a portfolio of high-traffic sites.

• Tech Stack: Expert proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery. Must understand the ramifications of CSS changes across diverse platforms.
