Job Description:
We are seeking a meticulous and creatively gifted Video Editor to join our production powerhouse in Abuja. In a world of high-velocity content, success is defined by "Invisible Continuity", the rare skill of assembling footage so seamlessly that the audience forgets the edit and lives entirely within the story. This role is designed for a "Post-Production Architect" with 2–6 years of experience who can blend "Emotional Pacing" with the "Technical Rigor" required for high-end color grading and audio synchronization.
Your mission is to ensure "Immersive Storytelling and Brand-Aligned Visual Excellence." You will be the bridge between the raw script and the final screen: responsible for transforming fragmented shots into polished narratives across YouTube, TikTok, and corporate platforms. If you possess "Editing Mastery," proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, and a deep understanding of the "Script-to-Screen" workflow, we want you to drive our creative output.
Requirements:
1. Narrative Assembly & Invisible Storytelling
Continuity Orchestration: Review shooting scripts and raw material to create a shot decision list (SDL) that prioritizes narrative flow and emotional impact over simple sequence.
Seamless Pacing: Execute "Invisible Edits" that manipulate footage in a way that feels natural to the viewer, ensuring technical transitions serve the story rather than distract from it.
Iterative Refinement: Develop projects through the lifecycle of rough cuts to final deliverables, incorporating stakeholder feedback while maintaining creative integrity.
2. Technical Sensory Enhancement
Chromatic Excellence: Perform advanced color correction and grading to ensure visual consistency and mood alignment across all scenes.
Sonic Architecture: Synchronize and mix music, dialogue, and sound effects; utilize tools like Adobe Audition to ensure "Studio-Grade" audio clarity.
Motion & VFX Integration: Apply basic motion graphics, titles, and visual effects (VFX) to elevate the production value and reinforce brand identity.
3. Multi-Platform Distribution & Asset Governance
Platform Optimization: Tailor edits for specific destination requirements, managing compression standards and export settings for YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and web.
Digital Asset Stewardship: Maintain a high-fidelity archive of project files, raw footage, and b-roll to ensure rapid retrieval and future repurposing.
Collaborative Synergy: Consult with production teams throughout the process to align technical specifications with the overarching creative brief.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Minimum of SSCE, OND, or NCE (Relevant certifications in Media/Film are a plus).
Experience: 2–6 years of proven experience as a Video Editor with a portfolio demonstrating strong narrative pacing.
Software Mastery: Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro.
Technical Toolkit: Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects (Motion Graphics), DaVinci Resolve (Color), and Adobe Audition (Audio).
Core Competencies
Narrative Grit: Ability to determine the "best shot" based on emotional value and continuity.
Meticulous Detail: A "Zero-Error" approach to spotting audio pops, visual glitches, or narrative gaps.
Innovative Mindset: Continuous discovery of new editing technologies and industry best practices.
