Job Description:

We are seeking a high-caliber Trade Marketing Representative to join our Abuja operations as the custodian of our "Point of Connection" (POC) excellence. In the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and beverage sectors, winning happens at the shelf and the bar. This role is designed for a "Channel Strategist", someone who can leverage capital and people resources to turn marketing theory into sustainable sales volume and market share.

Your mission is to own the "Below-the-Line" (BTL) narrative. You will be responsible for the entire trade lifecycle: from defining channel segments and driving the regional Cold Strategy to managing multi-million Naira Capex budgets for coolers and draught equipment. If you possess a data-driven approach to numeracy and the persuasive grit to lead diverse sales teams toward global execution standards, we want you to drive our Abuja growth.

Requirements:

1. Channel Architecture & Execution Excellence

  • Strategy Segmentation: Define, quantify, and segment market channels, applying bespoke strategies that align with local consumer trends in Northern Nigeria.

  • Cold Strategy Ownership: Develop and drive the "Cold Strategy" (refrigeration and draught) to ensure our products are served at the optimal temperature and visibility.

  • Tool-Kit Development: Create and standardize IRVPs (Integrated Route-to-Market Value Propositions), providing sales teams with the frameworks and merchandising standards needed to win.

2. BTL Communication & Competitor Response

  • Sales Driver Triangle: Own the definition of execution standards across all elements of the sales driver triangle (Availability, Visibility, and Pricing).

  • Annual Activity Planning: Develop comprehensive BTL plans, including promotions, events, and signage, ensuring every activity is backed by a clear budget and communication plan.

  • Market Defense: Monitor competitor moves in real-time and develop ad-hoc trade responses to maintain our competitive advantage.

3. Financial Stewardship & Agency Management

  • Budget Accountability: Take full ownership of the BTL and Capex budgets (Coolers, Draught, Activations), ensuring transparency and strict adherence to financial controls.

  • Agency Governance: Manage 3rd Party BTL agencies, ensuring that experiential activations and trade materials meet our global standards of excellence.

  • Audit & Analytics: Review and track in-trade audit KPIs, utilizing regular CPF (Channel Planning Forum) sessions to communicate results and initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

  • Education: Minimum of a First Degree in Business Administration, Humanities, or a related field from an accredited university.

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of active experience in Trade Marketing, ideally within the FMCG or Beverage sectors.

  • Technical Savvy: High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (for detailed numerical analysis) and PowerPoint (for strategic presentations).

Core Competencies

  • Market Intelligence: Practical knowledge of Nigerian market structures and regional consumer trends.

  • Persuasive Leadership: Ability to get results through managing diverse groups and external agencies.

  • Numerical Precision: Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail regarding P&L and Capex management.
