Job Description:

Oyomesi Specialist Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Licensed Sonographer to join our diagnostic medical team. This role is critical to our commitment to clinical excellence, requiring a professional who can deliver high-resolution imaging and accurate sonographic assessments across a variety of medical specialties. You will work closely with our physicians to provide the diagnostic clarity needed for effective patient treatment and management.

The ideal candidate combines advanced technical proficiency with a compassionate approach to patient care, ensuring that every examination is conducted with the highest standards of accuracy, privacy, and safety.

Requirements:

Diagnostic Imaging & Procedures

• Ultrasound Examinations: Perform a wide range of ultrasound procedures, including abdominal, obstetric, vascular, and pelvic scans, as directed by referring physicians.

• Equipment Operation: Safely and effectively operate advanced ultrasound machinery and imaging software to capture precise, high-quality diagnostic images.

• Case Analysis: Analyze sonographic findings and collaborate with the medical team to provide insights that support accurate clinical diagnoses.

Patient Care & Documentation

• Patient Management: Prepare and position patients for examinations, ensuring their physical comfort and maintaining strict standards of privacy and dignity.

• Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous electronic and physical records, ensuring all procedures and findings are documented accurately and within required timelines.

• Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to hospital safety protocols, infection control measures, and patient confidentiality (HIPAA) standards.

Technical Maintenance

• Quality Control: Ensure the proper care, calibration, and routine maintenance of ultrasound equipment to prevent downtime and ensure consistent image quality.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Degree or Diploma in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a closely related medical field.

• Licensure: Must possess a valid and current license to practice as a Sonographer in Nigeria.

• Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in a clinical or hospital environment.

  • Demonstrated expertise in diverse scan types (Obstetrics, Gynecology, Abdominal, etc.).

• Technical Skills:

  • High proficiency in operating modern ultrasound equipment and imaging software.

  • Strong diagnostic skills with a sharp eye for anatomical detail.

• Core Competencies:

  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with patients and multidisciplinary medical teams.

  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced hospital setting.
