Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Medical Sonographer to join our clinical team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations that are critical to patient diagnosis and treatment planning.

As a key member of our diagnostic department, you will combine technical expertise in imaging with a compassionate approach to patient care. You will work closely with radiologists and physicians to ensure that every scan is accurate, every finding is documented, and every patient feels safe and informed throughout the process.

Requirements:

Diagnostic Imaging & Technical Execution

• Comprehensive Scanning: Perform a wide range of ultrasound scans, including Abdominal, Pelvic, Obstetric/Gynecological, Vascular, and Small Parts (thyroid, breast, scrotum, etc.).

• Image Acquisition: Capture high-quality diagnostic images and videos, demonstrating a keen ability to distinguish between normal and abnormal findings.

• Equipment Care: Operate and maintain ultrasound machinery, performing routine checks and ensuring all technical issues are reported and resolved promptly.

Patient Care & Communication

• Procedure Management: Review physician requests, explain procedures to patients to obtain informed consent, and ensure proper positioning and comfort during the exam.

• Collaboration: Work in lockstep with radiologists and medical staff to communicate critical or urgent findings immediately.

• Professional Conduct: Maintain a clean, safe, and professional working environment, strictly adhering to infection control and safety protocols.

Documentation & Reporting

• Preliminary Analysis: Prepare accurate preliminary reports and ensure all images are correctly labeled and stored.

• Records Management: Maintain detailed patient records in full compliance with medical and legal standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Sonography, Radiography, or Medical Imaging.

• Licensing:

  • Relevant professional certification.

  • A valid practicing license as required by Nigerian regulatory bodies.

• Experience:

  • Prior experience in a clinical or hospital setting is preferred.

  • Specific expertise in obstetric and abdominal scanning is a significant advantage.

  • Technical Precision: Strong imaging skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional patient care abilities and the capacity to stay calm under pressure or during medical emergencies.
