Job Description:
We are seeking a technically proficient and detail-oriented Quality Assurance (QA) Officer to join our team in Lagos. This role is central to the integrity of the Instollar platform, ensuring that every solar, inverter, and hybrid installation meets the highest industry standards. You will act as the technical gatekeeper, responsible for vetting the professionals who join our network and rigorously reviewing their completed projects to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance.
The ideal candidate is an engineer with a "boots-on-the-ground" understanding of renewable energy systems and the analytical ability to assess technical work through documentation, imagery, and project reports.
Requirements:
Installer Vetting & Onboarding
Credential Review: Thoroughly vet and approve renewable energy installers by reviewing their technical submissions, professional credentials, and supporting documentation prior to platform onboarding.
Standards Alignment: Ensure that all prospective installers demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of safety protocols and technical best practices.
Project Quality Oversight
Technical Inspection: Conduct detailed quality checks on active and completed installation projects using technical reports, site images, and stakeholder feedback.
Risk Identification: Proactively identify quality issues, potential risks, and non-compliance with engineering standards within project submissions.
Escalation Management: Recognize and escalate critical technical failures or safety concerns to the relevant internal teams for immediate intervention.
Documentation & Continuous Improvement
Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous records of all QA reviews, findings, and onboarding decisions to support platform transparency.
Standardization: Work to ensure unwavering consistency in quality standards across a diverse range of installers and geographic project sites.
Reporting: Generate clear, actionable reports on installer performance and project health for management review.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
Experience:
Proven hands-on experience with renewable energy systems, specifically solar, inverter, or hybrid installations.
Previous experience in a technical review, quality assurance, inspection, or operations role.
Technical Competencies:
Analytical Assessment: Ability to accurately judge the quality of technical work using visual evidence and documentation.
Decision Making: Sound judgment and the ability to make firm technical decisions even when presented with incomplete or complex real-world information.
Core Skills:
Attention to Detail: A rigorous approach to reviewing project images and wiring diagrams to spot discrepancies.
Communication: Strong reporting skills with the ability to articulate technical failures or requirements to both internal teams and installers.
