Job Description:
We are seeking a meticulous and highly organized Payroll / Accounts Officer to manage the financial operations and payroll administration of our workforce. This role is critical in ensuring that large-scale payroll schedules are processed with 100% accuracy and that all company financial records are maintained in accordance with national accounting standards. You will handle everything from statutory tax compliance to field staff expense tracking, serving as a key pillar of our financial integrity.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in managing complex payroll systems and a deep understanding of Nigerian tax regulations, particularly within the security or service industry.
Requirements:
Payroll & Workforce Administration
Accurate Processing: Execute end-to-end payroll cycles, ensuring all staff receive timely and accurate salary payments.
Schedule Management: Maintain detailed salary schedules and track attendance records and payment documentation specifically for field staff.
System Tracking: Utilize payroll management systems to administer a large workforce efficiently.
Financial Accounting & Record Keeping
Bookkeeping: Maintain proper books of accounts, including invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, and deployment-specific expense records.
Reconciliations: Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and manage vendor reconciliations to ensure ledger accuracy.
Reporting: Generate financial reports and account summaries for management review and strategic decision-making.
Taxation & Compliance
Statutory Filings: Prepare and file all statutory deductions and tax returns, including VAT, PAYE, Pension, and WHT.
Regulatory Liaison: Ensure strict adherence to company financial policies and liaise with banks, auditors, and regulatory agencies.
Audit Support: Provide the necessary documentation and support for internal and external audit processes.
Treasury & Expense Management
AR/AP Management: Oversee accounts payable and receivable, including complex client billing and contract payment tracking.
Expense Monitoring: Meticulously monitor company expenses and financial transactions to identify variances.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: HND or B.Sc. Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in payroll and accounting.
Prior experience in a security or service-based company is highly preferred.
Technical Skills:
Sound knowledge of accounting principles and Nigerian taxation laws.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas) and specialized accounting software.
Core Competencies:
Attention to Detail: Absolute accuracy in figure work and record management.
Confidentiality: A high level of discretion regarding sensitive salary and financial data.
Resilience: Ability to manage multiple payroll schedules under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
