Job Description:

  • The Merchant Support Officer (On-Field) is responsible for executing on-field POS operations within the assigned market.
  • The role focuses on providing direct support to merchants by managing POS swaps, conducting regular visitations, collecting merchant records, and retrieving inactive terminals.
  • The officer serves as the operational link between the company and merchants, ensuring that all POS-related services are efficiently delivered and merchant satisfaction is maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site visits to merchants to address POS-related issues and ensure smooth operations.
  • Perform POS swaps, replacements, and retrievals in accordance with company policy and SLA timelines.
  • Collect and update merchant records and operational data accurately during field activities.
  • Retrieve inactive or non-performing POS terminals and return them to the designated hub or warehouse.
  • Provide first-level technical and operational support to merchants during field visits.
  • Promote operational awareness and communicate company policies to merchants effectively.
  • Escalate unresolved merchant issues to the Market Officer or Operations Supervisor for prompt resolution.
  • Ensure all field operations are properly documented and reported daily.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of an OND / HND / Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in POS operations, field support, or customer service is an added advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be proactive, result-oriented, and committed to excellent service delivery.
