Job Description:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Inventory Officer to manage the stock integrity of our supermarket. In this role, you will be the backbone of our operational efficiency, ensuring that the right products are on our shelves at the right time. You will oversee the end-to-end stock lifecycle from receiving deliveries and maintaining accurate digital records to conducting physical audits and identifying shrinkage risks. Requirements:
Stock Oversight: Manage daily stock tracking, including receipts, transfers, sales, and returns. Maintain precise balance levels to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
Audit & Reconciliation: Conduct regular physical stock counts. Rigorously investigate and reconcile discrepancies to ensure 100% alignment between physical inventory and system records.
Procurement Liaison: Partner with procurement teams to verify incoming goods against purchase orders, ensuring quality standards are met and reporting any damages or shortages immediately.
Operational Support: Coordinate with sales and floor staff to ensure shelves are perfectly stocked, properly labeled, and barcoded for seamless checkout.
Data & Reporting: Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on stock health, highlighting fast-moving versus slow-moving items to support management’s procurement and sales strategy.
Risk & Security: Enforce loss prevention protocols and ensure all stock handling procedures safeguard product quality and minimize company losses.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, APICS) are an added advantage.
Experience: 1–2 years of hands-on experience in inventory control or warehouse operations, preferably within a retail or supermarket environment.
Technical Literacy: Proficiency in inventory management software and POS systems.
