Job Description:
We are seeking a high-caliber HR Business Partner to act as the strategic link between our people operations and our business objectives. This is not a back-office administrative role; it is a front-line leadership position requiring a "consultant mindset" to drive workforce performance across our head office and branch network.
As an HRBP, you will provide end-to-end support—from strategic manpower planning and performance architecture to navigating the complexities of Nigerian Labour Law and CBN/NDIC regulatory requirements. Requirements:
1. Strategic HR Partnership & Organizational Design
Executive Advisory: Partner with Executive Management and Branch Managers to translate business goals into actionable people strategies (manpower planning, capability building).
Change Management: Act as a change agent during restructuring, branch expansions, or process improvements, ensuring employee alignment and clear communication.
Risk Management: Advise management on people-related risks and organizational design to ensure a lean, effective bank structure.
2. Talent & Performance Architecture
Performance Excellence: Drive the full performance lifecycle, from goal setting and appraisals to implementing Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs).
Capability Building: Collaborate with the L&D function to identify skill gaps and support succession planning for critical roles.
Recruitment Strategy: Support manpower planning to ensure both the head office and branches are staffed with high-performing talent.
3. Employee Relations & Regulatory Compliance
Labour Law Stewardship: Manage disciplinary processes, grievances, and conflict resolution in strict accordance with Bank policy and Nigerian Labour Law.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all HR activities meet the standards of the CBN, NDIC, and internal audits.
Culture Advocacy: Reinforce the Bank’s ethical standards and performance culture, promoting a positive and productive workplace across all branch locations.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
Experience: 4–6 years in HR, with at least 2 years in a dedicated HRBP or Senior HR Generalist role.
Sector IQ: Prior experience in a Microfinance or Commercial Bank in Nigeria is highly preferred.
Legal Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of Nigerian Labour Law and microfinance banking regulations.
Certification: Professional HR certifications (CIPM, SHRM, or CIPD) are an added advantage.
Core Competencies
Stakeholder Management: Ability to influence and advise senior executives and branch leaders.
Business Acumen: Understanding of banking operations and how people strategies drive financial outcomes.
Mobility: Willingness to travel across the branch network as required.
Tech Literacy: Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office applications.
