We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Description:

• Participate in implementing the DCP approved occupational safety program, analysing and administering various components of the safety programs.

Responsibilities

• Monitor DCP employees, contracts, and sub-contracts to ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations.
• Ensure all persons, including the general public, with proximity of DCP premises sites and operating locations are not exposed to the risks of health and safety.
• Ensure that work is carried out in a safe manner and to acceptable standards with minimum risk to all persons, property, equipment, and materials.
• Report near misses, unsafe acts, unsafe conditions of contracts and sub-contracts to DCP Management.
• Ensure that contractors carry out toolbox on a daily basis before starting any work.
• Ensure that all necessary fire apparatus on site are maintained in serviceable condition and regularly inspected.
• Ensure that necessary contact is made for emergency call-out of medical facilities in case of a serious accident or illness.
• Upon receipt of a report of noncompliance or any condition that poses a serious or imminent danger to health, issues a request for immediate corrective action from the contractors.
• The elimination of the risk of injury to all persons affected by DCP operations and the prevention of damage to all property and plant. 

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degrees in Engineering or a related field.
• Postgraduate/Professional qualification from an HSE body such as NEBOSH, OSHA, ISPON.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in safety, preferably in the cement or related industry.

• Adequate knowledge of the cement and manufacturing industries.
• Adequate knowledge of Safety regulations.
• Ability to analyze incidences and proffer valuable solutions.
• Ability to communicate incidences and emergencies clearly.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• High sense of responsibility.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
