Job Description:
We are seeking a visionary and technically formidable Director of Marine Operations to lead our offshore fleet and operational strategy. Operating at the highest levels of the maritime industry, this role is the heartbeat of our vessel deployment, safety culture, and client fulfillment. You will be responsible for the strategic oversight of a diverse fleet—including PSVs, AHTSVs, FISVs, and FSIVs—ensuring they operate at peak efficiency within the most rigorous international and local regulatory frameworks.
As the Director, you are the principal architect of our marine operations strategy. You will bridge the gap between complex technical engineering and commercial objectives, utilizing AI-driven analytics and digital twins to optimize fleet performance. If you are a Master Mariner or Chief Engineer with 15+ years of experience and a proven track record of managing high-value IOC contracts, we invite you to steer our operational excellence.
Requirements:
1. Operational Leadership & Digital Transformation
Strategic Deployment: Formulate and execute a marine strategy that aligns fleet optimization with fuel efficiency and cost-effective asset utilization.
Technological Edge: Drive the adoption of data analytics and AI-assisted fleet monitoring to create real-time operational dashboards for enhanced decision-making.
Emergency Orchestration: Lead the coordination of multi-vessel operations for offshore production, maintenance, and high-stakes emergency response missions.
2. Technical Asset Management & Reliability
Lifecycle Governance: Oversee the technical condition and reliability of the entire fleet, approving dry-docking plans and managing substantial CAPEX/OPEX budgets.
Predictive Maintenance: Collaborate with engineering teams to implement predictive maintenance solutions and digital twin simulations to minimize downtime.
Refurbishment Strategy: Lead fleet renewal initiatives, ensuring that vessel upgrades align with future offshore technology trends and client requirements.
3. Regulatory Mastery & HSE Excellence
Global Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to international standards, including the ISM Code, MARPOL, SOLAS, and ISPS, as well as local NIMASA and NCDMB requirements.
Statutory Governance: Liaise with classification societies and flag states to ensure all certifications and audits are current and beyond reproach.
Zero-Harm Culture: Champion a continuous improvement culture in HSE performance, focusing on root-cause analysis and international benchmarking.
4. Stakeholder Diplomacy & Human Capital
Client Principal: Serve as the primary contact for IOCs and EPC contractors, managing SLAs and ensuring project KPIs are consistently exceeded.
Leadership & Mentorship: Supervise Marine Superintendents and Vessel Masters, fostering a high-performance culture and overseeing crew competency and certification rotational planning.
Industry Representation: Represent the organization at high-level regulatory and industry forums to reinforce operational credibility.
Qualifications and Skills:
Academic & Professional Credentials
Education: Advanced degree (M.Sc. or M.Eng.) in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or Nautical Science.
Certifications: Mandatory STCW Master/Chief Engineer unlimited certifications with endorsements for PSVs/AHTS.
Professional Body: Membership/Fellowship in IMarEST or equivalent is highly advantageous.
Experience & Expertise
Leadership: Minimum 15 years in offshore operations, with 10+ years in senior executive roles overseeing multi-vessel fleets.
Regulatory Depth: Proven track record in multi-jurisdictional compliance and managing high-value offshore contracts.
Technical Savvy: Hands-on experience with PMS platforms, digital twin simulations, and advanced operational analytics.
