Job Description:

We are seeking a high-caliber Finance Manager to lead our financial operations and act as a strategic partner to senior management. In the fast-moving retail sector, financial accuracy and data-driven decision-making are paramount. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire financial ecosystem—from transaction processing and tax compliance to investor relations and risk mitigation.

The ideal candidate is a certified professional who is comfortable navigating large datasets, managing multidisciplinary teams, and designing organizational structures that drive efficiency. Requirements:

1. Financial Operations & Transaction Governance

  • Departmental Leadership: Oversee the Accounting, Investor Relations, Tax, and Treasury departments, ensuring the organizational structure is optimized to meet CFO-level goals.

  • Transaction Integrity: Supervise high-volume Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) systems, ensuring all charge-backs are treated promptly and accurately.

  • Process Excellence: Maintain a documented system of accounting policies while implementing global best practices for retail transaction processing.

2. Risk Management & Regulatory Compliance

  • Internal Controls: Design and monitor internal control systems to protect company assets and ensure data security.

  • Audit & Legal: Maintain flawless records for external auditors and government agencies, ensuring 100% compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Risk Mitigation: Understand the company’s risk profile and implement strategies to mitigate financial exposure.

3. Tax Management & Reporting

  • Tax Stewardship: Lead the monthly filing and payment processing for WHT, VAT, and PAYE. Represent the company alongside tax consultants during statutory audits.

  • Financial Intelligence: Oversee the issuance of financial results and prepare monthly Management Reports that provide actionable insights to the board.

  • Payroll Governance: Support the Finance Director with payroll review, approval, and payment initiation.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Accounting or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Finance Manager, with mandatory experience in the Retail Industry.

  • Certification: Relevant professional accounting qualification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA, or CPA) is required.

  • Technical Stack: Advanced proficiency in Xero Accounting Software, Microsoft Excel (modeling and data analysis), and database administration.
