Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Account Officer to support our finance team in the dynamic oil and gas sector. This role is perfect for a graduate with strong foundational accounting knowledge and a drive to develop industry-specific expertise. You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of our financial records, managing daily transaction flows, and assisting in the smooth execution of our month-end and audit processes.

Requirements:

• Financial Records & Documentation: Assist in the preparation of financial reports and ensure every daily transaction is recorded with rigorous accuracy and proper documentation.

• Transaction Processing: Support end-to-end accounts payable and receivable workflows, including invoice generation, verification, and timely filing.

• Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of bank statements and ledger accounts to ensure financial alignment.

• Expense Tracking: Monitor and track operational, logistical, and procurement expenses, ensuring all spending adheres to company budget frameworks.

• Closing & Audits: Provide essential support during month-end and year-end closing cycles; assist in preparing audit schedules and resolving queries.

• Stakeholder Liaison: Act as a point of contact for vendors and internal departments regarding payment-related inquiries and reconciliation.

• Compliance & Filing: Maintain an organized, secure, and efficient digital and physical filing system, ensuring full compliance with internal financial policies.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Experience: A recent graduate or early-career professional with a basic understanding of accounting principles. (Knowledge of IFRS is a significant advantage).

• Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (essential).

  • Familiarity with accounting software such as SAP, QuickBooks, or similar ERPs.
