Job Description:

We are seeking a highly analytical and experienced Structural Engineer to join our engineering team in Abuja. In this role, you will be the technical authority responsible for the safety, stability, and longevity of our building and infrastructure projects. You will navigate the entire project lifecycle—from complex computational analysis and design to on-site supervision and final certification.

Requirements:

1. Advanced Structural Analysis & Design

• System Modeling: Design and analyze complex structural systems for diverse projects, ensuring they withstand all relevant loads and environmental stresses.

• Technical Documentation: Prepare and review high-precision structural drawings, detailed calculations, and technical specifications that form the blueprint for construction.

• Software Mastery: Utilize advanced design tools such as ETABS, SAFE, and STAAD Pro to simulate structural behavior and optimize material usage.

2. Construction Oversight & Quality Control

• Site Inspections: Conduct rigorous on-site evaluations to ensure that physical construction aligns perfectly with approved design and safety standards.

• Material Validation: Review and approve construction materials and methods, ensuring they meet the required strength and durability specifications.

• Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify structural vulnerabilities or deviations during the build phase and provide immediate, technically sound resolutions.

3. Compliance, Collaboration & Reporting

• Regulatory Stewardship: Ensure every element of the project adheres strictly to Nigerian building codes, international regulations, and internal quality standards.

• Multidisciplinary Synergy: Collaborate closely with architects, contractors, and MEP engineers to integrate structural requirements into the broader project vision.

• Professional Reporting: Prepare comprehensive technical reports and project documentation for stakeholders and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. (An M.Sc. is a significant advantage).

• Experience: 3 – 7 years of demonstrable experience in structural design and site management.

• Certification: Must possess relevant Professional Certifications (e.g., COREN registration).

Technical & Core Competencies

• Software Stack: Expert proficiency in AutoCAD and at least two structural analysis programs (ETABS, SAFE, or STAAD Pro).

• Analytical IQ: Strong ability to solve complex engineering problems through mathematical modeling and logic.

• Communication: Clear verbal and written skills for presenting technical findings to non-engineering stakeholders.
