Job Description:

Adexen is seeking a high-caliber Senior Accountant to serve as the guardian of financial accuracy for a leading international provider of multidisciplinary engineering services in the Oil & Gas industry. In the energy sector, accounting is a high-stakes environment where fiscal precision meets complex regulatory compliance. This role is designed for a "System & Tax Specialist" someone with a minimum of 5 years of experience and a professional certification (ACCA/ICAN) who can master SAP workflows and navigate the nuances of Nigerian Content Development (NCD) provisions.

Your mission is to ensure the absolute integrity of the general ledger while providing the business with the reliable financial insights necessary for large-scale engineering projects. You will be responsible for the entire fiscal cycle—from forex revaluations and intercompany loan booking to leading external audits and optimizing tax efficiency. If you possess the analytical depth to manage international financial standards and a commitment to HSE excellence, we want you to lead our finance function in Lagos.

Requirements:

1. General Ledger & SAP Ecosystem Governance

• Ledger Sovereignty: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring the chart of accounts is updated and every transaction reflects the highest level of accuracy.

• Complex Provisions: Compute and post specialized provisions, including NCD (Nigerian Content Development) levies, ensuring alignment with local industry regulations.

• Forex & Revaluation: Lead the review of foreign exchange adjustments and revaluation entries, a critical function for an international firm operating in Nigeria’s volatile currency market.

• Intercompany Clearing: Book intercompany loans and debit notes in SAP in strict accordance with global transfer pricing agreements.

2. Revenue Cycle & Project Documentation

• Invoicing Integrity: Review technical progress documentation and prepare accurate customer invoices, ensuring all supporting evidence is filed for seamless audit trails.

• Receivables Management: Monitor accounts receivable relentlessly to ensure prompt collections and maintain healthy operational cash flow.

• Internal Controls: Implement and monitor rigorous internal control frameworks over all accounting transactions to mitigate financial risks and prevent fraud.

3. Audit, Tax & Statutory Excellence

• Tax Optimization: Identify strategic opportunities to optimize tax efficiency while ensuring 100% compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements.

• Audit Leadership: Serve as the primary coordinator for internal and external auditors, facilitating the delivery of clean financial and tax audits.

• Knowledge Management: Monitor and support financial knowledge sharing within the organization to ensure best practices are standardized across the business.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.

• Certifications: ACCA, ICAN, or equivalent professional certification is highly preferred.

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a large-scale or international accounting environment.

• Industry Context: Prior experience in Oil & Gas or industrial services is a significant advantage.

• Technical Savvy: Expert-level knowledge of SAP and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
