Job Description:

We are seeking a highly technical and execution-focused Risk and Loss Prevention Engineer (Specialist II) to join our team in Lagos on a contract basis. This is a critical role for a professional who combines deep engineering expertise with a strategic approach to safety and risk mitigation. You will be responsible for evaluating complex engineering work, leading high-level risk studies, and ensuring that all project execution whether internal or contractor-led adheres to the highest international safety standards and regulatory requirements. Requirements:

• Engineering Oversight: Evaluate and validate discipline-specific engineering work performed by internal teams and sub-contractors, ensuring total alignment with project specifications and company standards.

• Technical Leadership & Modeling: Participate in or lead advanced risk studies and conduct specialized consequence analyses, including toxic gas dispersion modeling.

• Standardization: Develop, update, and formalize safety standards, codes, and instructions into official company documented practices.

• Communication & Facilitation: Serve as the primary technical link for the project team, ensuring accurate, timely reporting on discipline progress, potential bottlenecks, and safety issues.

• Operational Alignment: Facilitate effective engineering and design routines that align with project goals, objectives, and internal procedures.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent professional experience).

• Experience:

  • Significant experience in Loss Prevention and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS).

  • Broad and extensive knowledge of discipline design standards, specifications, and safety criteria.

• Technical Proficiency:

  • Advanced ability to interpret and apply complex safety codes and engineering standards.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken), with mastery in technical and business communication.
