Operations:
- Provide Reservoir Engineering support for the delivery of top‑quartile well proposals, well execution activities (new wells, workovers, and abandonment), and the structured capture and documentation of learnings from delivered well projects.
- The role also provides Reservoir Engineering discipline support to Field Management teams across the wider Asset organisation, particularly in WRFM and hydrocarbon resource management activities.
Supervisory Level: Individual Contributor
Key Responsibilities
Studies Reservoir Engineer:
- Analyse production and pressure data to evaluate reservoir behaviour and performance trends; contribute to material balance and decline curve analyses.
- Build, update, and run dynamic reservoir simulation models, including sensitivity analyses to evaluate development scenarios and key uncertainties.
- Support hydrocarbons in place and reserves estimation in line with industry standards, contributing to reserves documentation, reporting, and audit processes.
- Provide high quality Reservoir Engineering input to Field Development Planning (FDP) studies, including concept screening, well placement, development strategy definition, and production forecasting.
- Support well performance analysis and identify optimisation opportunities in collaboration with production and operations teams.
- Gather, validate, and manage reservoir and production data, ensuring integrity, traceability, and consistency for studies and modelling.
- Prepare clear, concise technical reports, presentations, and study documentation, effectively communicating assumptions, results, and uncertainties.
- Present discipline and integrated work to Technical Authorities and, where required, regulatory bodies.
- Work closely with Geoscience, Petroleum Engineering, Wells, Facilities, and Operations teams to deliver integrated subsurface studies.
- Support probabilistic assessments and scenario evaluations (P10/P50/P90) to inform risk based decision making.
- Ensure DEP compliance and documented assurance of Pore Pressure Prediction estimates for new wells and all well entry activities, including abandonment.
Operations Reservoir Engineer:
- Build, maintain, and quality assure integrated static and dynamic reservoir models to support reserves estimation and development planning.
- Generate production forecasts and quantify uncertainties to support investment decisions and resource maturation.
- Provide Reservoir Engineering input across pre and post DG3 stages, supporting concept selection, development optimisation, and execution readiness.
- Contribute to Field Development Plans (FDPs), including phased development strategies and regulatory submissions.
- Analyse reservoir and well performance using surveillance data, simulation, and analytical techniques (e.g. material balance).
- Identify, mature, and implement opportunities to improve recovery, production efficiency, and overall asset value.
- Deliver technical recommendations on well placement, spacing, and trajectories, aligned with reservoir management objectives.
- Provide Reservoir Engineering input to drilling, completion, intervention, and workover activities.
- Work within multi disciplinary teams (Geoscience, Wells, Facilities, Operations) to deliver integrated subsurface and development outcomes.
- Ensure alignment between subsurface understanding and surface facility constraints.
- Ensure compliance with Design Engineering Practices (DEPs), company standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Support pore pressure prediction and well entry assurance activities.
- Coordinate Technical Assurance reviews and ensure timely close out of actions with Technical Authorities (TA1/TA2).
- Ensure high quality data management, validation, and governance for reservoir and production datasets.
- Leverage digital tools and workflows to enhance modelling, forecasting, and decision making.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline with at least 8 years relevant work experience.
- Strong grounding in core Reservoir Engineering principles, including reservoir performance analysis, reserves estimation, and reservoir simulation, with a solid understanding of related subsurface disciplines.
- Proven experience in reservoir modelling, production forecasting, and integrated Field Development Planning, with demonstrated ability to identify and mature opportunities that enhance recovery, production sustainability, and overall asset value.
- Proficiency in reservoir engineering and productivity software tools. Experience with industry standard applications such as Petrel ECLIPSE, OFM, MBAL, and PVTp is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex reservoir and production data to support technical studies and decision making.
