Job Description:

  • Megastar is hiring a Project Planning Engineer to join our Project Control team.
  • In this role, you will be responsible for preparing detailed project schedules, supporting project management at all hierarchal levels, and ensuring that project milestones are met on time and within scope.
  • You will work closely with the project management team, applying proven planning principles including critical path analysis, project trend analysis, forecasting, and materials and equipment planning to drive successful project delivery.
  • You will also be expected to learn and utilise our company's ERP system for materials monitoring and tracking.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and define project goals, objectives, and detailed activity lists for new projects.
  • Develop WBS for each activity group and build project schedules accordingly.
  • Lead development of baseline schedules and support the Project Manager in Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBR).
  • Monitor and analyze project effectiveness using qualitative and quantitative tools.
  • Prepare short- and long-term resource allocation plans with input from all key stakeholders.
  • Oversee schedules and risk management plans; provide early warnings of serious deviations.
  • Track all subcontract schedule performance to ensure compliance with the approved schedule.
  • Identify changes in work scope and take appropriate measures to renegotiate and amend contracts and budgets.
  • Alert the project management team when schedule recovery is required and advise on compression tools.
  • Develop and maintain a critical path activity list for tracking and reporting purposes.
  • Provide subcontract schedule of works for tenders.
  • Prepare and present regular internal and external project progress reports.
  • Gather actual data, update project schedules, and develop reliable forecasts with support from the project team.
  • Utilize the ERP system to track materials procurement and report on the impact of late procurement on the overall schedule.
  • Educate team members in planning methods to ensure continuity and project completeness.
  • Carry out other planning and reporting duties as may be assigned by the Project Control Manager.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Applied Science, or a related field.
  • 4-8 years of relevant project planning experience.
  • A Master's Degree, PMI-SP certification, or other related professional qualification will be an added advantage.
  • Site management background is desirable.
  • Proficiency in planning software: MS Project, Asta Power Project, and/or Primavera P6.
  • Excellent IT skills and ability to learn company ERP systems.
