Job Description:
BBC Media Action Nigeria is seeking a Project Officer to support the delivery of multiple projects across the country. The role involves assisting in proposal and report writing, ensuring contractual compliance, and managing relationships with broadcasters, NGOs, government agencies, and other partners. Key responsibilities include coordinating training programmes and logistics, monitoring project progress against objectives, preparing donor and financial reports, managing broadcast partner relationships, and collaborating with internal teams to deliver high-quality project outcomes. The position reports to the Senior Project Manager and works closely with various departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the delivery of projects, ensuring they meet agreed objectives and work plans.
Assist in developing and writing donor proposals and narrative/financial reports.
Monitor project performance to maintain high standards and timely delivery.
Coordinate effectively with implementation partners, including NGOs and broadcasters.
Manage and maintain relationships with broadcast partners, overseeing content distribution.
Liaise with internal BBC Media Action teams to deliver specific project components.
Organise training programmes, events, and related logistics.
Ensure contractual procedures and compliance are met across all projects.
Requirements:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with proven ability to build strong relationships with local and international partners.
Experience managing activity budgets and providing timely updates on progress and spend.
Strong report writing skills.
Sound judgment and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to adapt, respond to crises, and assess risks.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet conflicting deadlines.
Proven business development skills.
Understanding of, and commitment to, international development and the role of media in achieving developmental goals.
