Job Description:

  • The Pipeline Engineer is responsible for the design, engineering, and technical monitoring of onshore pipelines, from the Detailled Engineering through construction and commissioning.
  • He/She ensure the technical, regulatory, and HSE compliance of the infrastructure, while respecting project deadlines, budgets, and requirements.

Activities
Engineering:

  • Supervise pipeline studies (layout, sizing, material selection, corrosion protection...).
  • Verify technical deliverables (design philosophies, calculation notes, technical specifications, MTO / datasheets, …).
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (ASME, DNV, ISO, local standards…).

Interfaces & coordination:

  • Coordinate interfaces with other disciplines (Civil engineering, Process engineering, Instrumentation, Construction).
  • Participate in technical reviews and coordination meetings.
  • Anticipate operational interfaces (clashes, scheduling conflicts) before and during the construction phase.

Construction:

  • Providing technical support during (manufacturing, transport, welding, installation, testing (hydrotest), commissioning...)
  • Respond to technical clarifications and manage technical deviations.
  • Participate in site inspections and technical audits.

Change management:

  • Analyze the technical impacts of the modifications (Method of Concept).
  • Propose optimized and documented solutions.
  • Contribute to the technical and economic justification of the changes.
  • Prevent change orders and delays related to technical matters

Accountabilities:

  • Detailed Engineering documents reviewed and validated on time
  • All technical matters related to the pipeline addressed
  • Ensure that the pipeline is constructed according to project specification
  • Ensure that all change on the pipeline design (if any) is technically justified and done in compliance with the project specification

HSE Objectives:

  • Lead by example: Adopt and demonstrate exemplary H3SE behavior,
  • To adopt and demonstrate an exemplary behavior regarding the Company Ethics and “Code of Conduct” policy and to promote and enforce the Anti-Corruption Program within his team.
  • Familiarize self with Company's emergency procedures, carry out assigned responsibilities safely and report any incident, unsafe act, or operation.
  • Contribute to achieving the HSE objectives of the Project
  • Support and enforce the HSE Project objectives and directives. Make safety suggestions, report any anomalies, unsafe acts or conditions observed.

Requirements:

  • Oil and gas pipeline design _ level 4
  • Good knowledge of pipeline international standards _ level 4
  • Corrosion, coatings, isolation _ level 3
  • Transversal and multi-cultural communication_ level 4
  • (Degree of mastery: 1: weak - 2: medium - 3: good - 4: excellent)
  • Professional Experience (number of years) : 10
  • Experience within project execution: (number of years) : 10.
