Job Description:

We are seeking resilient and observant Field Photojournalists to document security-related events across various states. In an era where rapid information saves lives, your role is to act as a primary visual witness, capturing real-time developments of security incidents through both high-quality photography and video.

This is an outdoor, mobile-first journalism role designed for individuals who are comfortable navigating dynamic environments. You will travel to the scenes of security events, providing the visual evidence necessary for accurate reporting. While the primary focus is visual documentation via a specialized app, you will also serve as a frontline correspondent, occasionally interviewing witnesses to provide context to your footage.

Requirements:

1. Rapid Visual Documentation

• Real-Time Capture: Deploy to scenes of security incidents to record high-resolution video and photography using a mobile-based reporting application.

• Technical Agility: Utilize smartphone camera capabilities to capture clear footage under varying conditions (low light, moving subjects, etc.) without the need for traditional bulky equipment.

• Asset Integrity: Ensure that all captured media is timestamped, geotagged, and uploaded promptly through the designated app.

2. Field Reporting & Contextualization

• Witness Interviews: Conduct brief, professional interviews with members of the public or witnesses at the scene to gather vital background information.

• Situational Awareness: Maintain a high level of alertness and safety protocols while navigating "hot" security zones or sensitive areas.

• Accuracy & Ethics: Ensure that visual records are a truthful and unmanipulated representation of events, adhering to the core principles of ethical journalism.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

• Technical Requirement: Must possess a smartphone with a high-quality camera capable of recording clear HD video.

• Experience: Previous experience in journalism, documentary filming, or external event recording is a significant advantage.

• Interview Skills: Proven ability to approach and interview people in public settings comfortably.

• Mobility: Willingness and ability to travel on short notice to incident sites within your state or neighboring regions.
