Job Description:

We are seeking a disciplined and skilled Mechanical Technician to join our technical operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems to ensure peak operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and capable of executing complex technical tasks within a structured regulatory framework. You will play a vital role in minimizing downtime and ensuring that all mechanical work is performed to the highest industry standards.

Requirements:

Maintenance & Technical Execution

  • Equipment Support: Execute the maintenance, repair, and testing of diverse mechanical systems and equipment.

  • Job Planning: Review detailed job packs and execute assigned tasks according to planned timelines and technical specifications.

  • Documentation: Maintain precise technical records, including data sheets and General Register of Technicians (GRT) logs, to ensure full traceability of all work performed.

  • Continuous Improvement: Provide constructive feedback on job execution to help refine future maintenance planning and operational efficiency.

Safety & Compliance

  • Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify and mitigate potential safety hazards before beginning any task.

  • Permit-to-Work: Strictly adhere to company permit-to-work (PTW) processes and utilize on-the-job safety tools to maintain a zero-incident environment.

  • Standards Adherence: Ensure all mechanical activities comply with internal company standards and relevant health and safety regulations.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Relevant technical certification (e.g., OND/HND in Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent vocational experience.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proven ability to interpret technical drawings and maintenance manuals.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools for reporting and record-keeping.

  • Core Competencies:

    • Adaptability: Ability to work effectively under pressure and pivot to changing priorities in a dynamic environment.

    • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and reporting.
