Job Description:

• We are hiring a skilled Mechanical Engineer with essential experience in the steel industry to support plant operations at our Sabon Wuse facility.
• The successful candidate will ensure mechanical equipment reliability, maintenance efficiency, and improved production performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain mechanical equipment used in steel manufacturing.
• Diagnose mechanical failures and implement corrective action.
• Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance plans.
• Collaborate with production teams to enhance equipment uptime and efficiency.
• Review engineering drawings, equipment manuals, and technical specifications.
• Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Prepare reports and maintain accurate maintenance documentation.
• Identify process improvement and cost‑reduction opportunities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of mechanical engineering experience in the steel industry (mandatory).
• Strong knowledge of steel production processes and heavy industrial equipment.
• Experience with hydraulics, rotating machinery, and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong safety awareness and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in rolling mills, furnaces, or continuous casting.
• COREN or other professional certifications.
• Familiarity with CMMS or maintenance management software.
