Job Description:

We are seeking a technically sharp and field-ready Mechanical Engineer to join our construction team in Lagos. This is a critical role designed for an engineer who can move seamlessly from the drafting board to site supervision, ensuring that the "life support" systems of our buildings—HVAC, plumbing, and firefighting—are engineered to perfection.

You will be responsible for the full mechanical lifecycle: from reviewing AutoCAD designs to supervising onsite installations and leading the final commissioning. We are looking for a professional with 3–5 years of experience in a reputable construction firm who possesses the "engineering grit" to troubleshoot complex site issues while maintaining strict adherence to safety and quality standards.

Requirements:

1. Mechanical Systems Design & Implementation

• Technical Oversight: Design, review, and supervise the installation of critical mechanical systems, including HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), plumbing networks, and advanced firefighting systems.

• Drawing Interpretation: Accurately interpret and implement complex mechanical drawings and specifications, ensuring that physical installations align perfectly with AutoCAD designs.

• Material Procurement: Prepare detailed technical reports and material specifications, ensuring all components meet project quality and budgetary requirements.

2. Site Supervision & Quality Assurance

• Installation Monitoring: Conduct continuous monitoring of onsite installation works to ensure compliance with approved drawings and international MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) standards.

• Commissioning & Testing: Lead the inspections, testing, and commissioning phase of all mechanical systems to verify performance and safety before project handover.

• Problem Resolution: Proactively troubleshoot and resolve mechanical malfunctions or design conflicts during the construction and post-installation phases.

3. Coordination & Safety Governance

• Multidisciplinary Synergy: Coordinate effectively with site engineers, contractors, and specialized technicians to ensure mechanical works are synchronized with civil and electrical phases.

• HSE Compliance: Enforce strict Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations on-site, ensuring that all mechanical installations pose zero risk to the workforce or future occupants.

• Progress Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of site progress, providing management with accurate updates on timelines and technical challenges.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized and reputable university.

• Experience: 3–5 years of progressive experience specifically within a reputable construction company.

• Technical Mastery: Strong knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, and Firefighting systems.

• Software Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD and the ability to interpret multi-layered mechanical drawings.
