Job Description:

ESPOIR is looking for a versatile and high-achieving IT Manager to lead our local IT operations. This is a "player-coach" role designed for a technical expert who thrives on maintaining a 99.9% uptime environment while mentoring a team of officers and associates.

You will be the architect of our local network integrity, overseeing everything from AWS cloud services and Active Directory to the physical deployment of school technology. We need someone who can work with minimal supervision, navigate complex hardware/software crises, and maintain a culture of service excellence. If you are a certified Microsoft professional with 5–10 years of experience and the flexibility to ensure our systems never sleep, we want you on our team.

Requirements:

1. Infrastructure & Network Governance

• Network Architecture: Recommend, source, and maintain critical network hardware including firewalls, routers, and switches to ensure a secure and robust Local Area Network (LAN).

• Cybersecurity & Policy: Develop and enforce IT policies and hardware/software configurations to protect the integrity of ESPOIR’s data.

• Cloud & Server Management: Manage Windows Server environments (2012+) and Active Directory, while overseeing cloud-based services primarily on AWS.

2. Service Excellence & Technical Support

• Service Desk Leadership: Act as the primary escalation point for hardware and software issues, ensuring all tickets are prioritized systematically to minimize downtime.

• Standardization: Install and configure operating systems and software (Windows 7/8/X) to agreed global standards under the direction of the Director of IT.

• Asset Lifecycle: Manage the deployment, maintenance, and accurate inventory of all PC hardware, mobile devices (Android), and school-specific peripherals.

3. Project Management & Team Leadership

• Infrastructure Projects: Lead IT improvement projects, including the scheduling and budgeting for new technology rollouts.

• Stakeholder Relations: Maintain professional relationships with key suppliers and provide technical assistance to cross-functional project teams.

• Mentorship: Supervise, train, and mentor junior IT staff, fostering a culture of continual improvement and professional development.

Qualifications and Skills:

Technical Profile

• Education: Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from a recognized university with top marks.

• Experience: 5–10 years of relevant IT work experience, ideally in a fast-paced or educational environment.

• Core Systems: Mastery of Windows Desktop/Server, Microsoft Office support, Active Directory, and Microsoft systems like Navision, IIS, or SharePoint.

• Networking: Hands-on experience with routers, switches, firewalls, LAN, and Wi-Fi configurations.

• Cloud: Practical experience with AWS and cloud service administration.

Core Competencies

• Troubleshooting: Advanced ability to diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software configuration problems.

• Communication: Excellent writing and oral skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff.

• Analytical Grit: Strong research skills and the ability to propose immediate solutions during an IT crisis.

• Availability: Integral flexibility to work outside normal business hours when required.
