Job Description:
Are you a strategic orchestrator of world-class brand experiences? We are seeking a Manager, Events & Sponsorship to lead the execution of all commercial events, exhibitions, and fairs for EMTS. This role is pivotal in enhancing our corporate image and brand visibility across local and international stages.
You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of event management—from tactical planning and resource identification to post-event evaluation and stakeholder engagement. Requirements:
Tactical Strategy & Resource Management
Global Benchmarking: Keep abreast of global and local best practices in event management to ensure EMTS remains at the cutting edge of experiential marketing.
Process Improvement: Continuously review unit activities and implement approved initiatives to enhance team performance and operational agility.
Strategic Planning: Identify required personnel, funding, and material resources to achieve the unit’s long-term strategy.
Stakeholder Relations: Establish and maintain high-level relationships with internal teams and external vendors, including outsourced event management agencies.
Operational Excellence & Event Execution
End-to-End Planning: Coordinate all event logistics, including program design, venue selection, media material preparation, and communication plans.
Sponsorship Identification: Proactively identify local and international opportunities for brand participation and provide data-driven recommendations to the Head, Events & Sponsorship.
Brand Visibility: Collaborate with the Communications, Merchandising, and Visual Advertising teams to ensure maximum brand exposure and the prompt supply of promotional assets.
Reporting & Budgeting: Monitor unit budgetary needs and compile detailed periodic performance reports for executive review.
Leadership & Team Management
People Leadership: Provide guidance to team members, managing performance and fostering a culture of high morale and productivity.
Inter-functional Synergy: Manage relations across departments to ensure that event objectives align with broader commercial and corporate goals.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: First degree in a relevant discipline (Marketing, Communications, Business Admin, etc.). A Postgraduate or Professional qualification in a related field is a significant advantage.
Experience: * Six (6) to eight (8) years of cumulative work experience.
A minimum of three (3) years in a supervisory/managerial role.
Core Capabilities:
Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Nigerian telecommunications and media landscape.
Public Relations: Mastery of PR strategies as they relate to corporate events and fairs.
Event Management: Expert-level skills in managing large-scale, high-impact sponsorship portfolios.
Soft Skills: Exceptional negotiation, budget control, and stakeholder management abilities.
